Easter

We celebrated Easter at grandma and grandpa's house. Delanie loved looking for eggs. She really liked the marshmellows inside in the eggs. I was so impressed by her and how smart she is. I guess I am just biased but she knew exactly what to do. She was so excited that she didn't even notice when her shoe came off!

Weather and Windows

The temperature was 62 today. Absolutely gorgeous. Delanie, the dog, and I went for a very long walk. Then when we got home, I noticed REALLY HOW BAD our windows look and wouldn't you know but the handy man walked over just at that very moment. Isn't it funny how life works. Then he proceeds to tell me that it will be between 400-500 for each window. WHAT!!! Maybe I will just have to have the wooden storm parts replaced and put on new garage doors. Or I might be just dreaming about that too.

ONE OH TO BE ONE!!!!

The first birthday party was a blast. Delanie had so much fun running around the bowling alley and chasing the balloons. BUT, then she discovered that there was something at the bottom of the string that was shiny. So being the curious little girl that she is, Delanie started to bite the shiny material and before we knew it, she was eating gravel!! Yes, it is true, for her first birthday, she ate GRAVEL!
Delanie also liked picking at her own cake. She really only eats using the pincer grasp and she kept looking at me like, "Mom, are you really letting me have this!" She did get a little dirty but then she was tired of the cake and just threw it on ground. I guess we can be thankful that she lets us know when she is done!

It is still hard to believe that she is 1 and now she is officially a toddler. Time just needs to slow down!

SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP

I am not sure if Delanie is going through a growing phase or what but I just would really like her to sleep. We had the pleasure of two full weeks of her sleeping through the night and now we are back to her waking up and being up for 2-3 hours in the middle of the night. For instance, last night from 3-5. I refuse to feed her because then she will always want to eat when she wakes up but right now I am thinking it would be so much easier just to throw that bottle in her mouth. Last night I rocked her for a little while and she was not cooperating so I brought her to bed in the spare bedroom and after 2 hours of wrestling with me she finally fell asleep. Do you know hat it is like to sleep with an 11 month old. She kicks, squirms, rolls over and slaps you in the face, and right now she is snoring because she is a little stuffed up. Oh oh how I would like some sleep!

One Year Pictures

Yes, it is hard to believe that Delanie is almost one year old. We went to South Dakota and grandma and grandpa helped me with her. It is a lot of work to get a little girl dressed, fed, and kept happy! Besides that she wasn't feeling the greatest but I think we got a few good ones.

Little Red Sled

WOW! The weather yesterday was fantastic. I went for a walk with our family dog and then decided to go pick up Delanie from daycare but I had a special treat for her! Grandma and grandpa M got her a red sled for Christmas! I bundled up the baby and we sledded home. She absolutely love it! She sat so nice and laughed and giggled all the way home.

Cornhusker Girl

My husband isn't real excited about his daughter wearing this outfit. Personally, I LOVE IT! I enjoyed going to college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I learned a ton, Lincoln is a great city, my dad was born there, and my dad and uncle are serious fans of the football team.

K-T

We went to the doctor last Friday and he said that things look good but we are going to have another laser treatment on March 5. She will be 13 months old at that time. I really hope that by the time she is 3 we are done with these treatments. However, when the doctor was examining her, he noticed a purple spot behind her knee. It could possibly be a vein starting to develop. That is what scares me the most. I am hoping that we don't have to worry about veins getting large!

Christmas

Christmas was fantastic at our house. Christmas Eve and Day it was just the three of us and then on the 26th grandma D and the boys came and then on New Years, grandma and pa M arrived. The little princess was so excited to finally be able to rip paper without hearing the famous word "NO". I think her favorite present was the pink rocking horse. Grandpa named him "Pinkie". She also got a pink cowgirl hat and boots. She's not sure about the hat but she sure looks cute! Anyway, she would hug the horse and crawl over to it, stand up and pat it and giggle. I never knew that Christmas would be so wonderful until I had my little girl. I mean as a child I thought that Christmas was the best but as an adult it tends to lose a little of its excitment.....that is until you have a child.
